COMPOST

Compost is a great resource to defer the amount of waste we produce in our neighborhood and turn it into something useful.
Leavenworth Neighborhood Association has community compost bins located in the Hands to Harvest Community Garden. The bins are emptied and cleaned on Tuesdays, and the food scraps go to Soil Dynamics to be turned into compost. You can include any kitchen scraps in these bins or paper that can’t be recycled due to food or oil residue. If you use a plastic bag to transport your compost, please DO NOT include the bag in the bins. Currently, this program is open to all Leavenworth Neighborhood residents.
